The Prospectus

By invitation only

This is an invite only opportunity that has been extended to you by someone trusted in the GoodWork network.

We ask that you keep this material and its contents confidential.

The Invitation

Welcome to a growing movement of faith-led leaders using business to live out their faith; powerfully and with impact.

We’re offering a unique business opportunity that’s more than a job. As the head of the business, you’ll be responsible for shaping its operations, growth and culture. And in recognition of the significance of that role, you’ll be gifted equity - sharing in the upside of what you build.

We’re living in a unique moment in history. The majority of founders and VC money is running full speed toward anything with two letters: AI. Ironically, many of these businesses, and many others too, are likely to be replaced or disrupted by AI themselves.

But there’s a class of assets that are not just less likely to be disrupted, and arguably, they’re some of the most remarkable investment opportunities out there. Often viewed as outdated or stodgy, these businesses are far from that. They’re diamonds in the rough.

We back you by pairing you with a small to medium sized business we’ve deeply vetted and acquired (typically $2m to $5m business value, with turnover up to $10m).

Around you, we build a support ecosystem: the GoodWork investment team and trusted operators who help you run, grow, and scale. Without putting in your own capital, you’ll lead with autonomy, earn a guaranteed salary, hold equity, have a clear path to exit that we manage, and share in the upside. And if it’s a fit, you’re invited to do it again.

But all of this is just the surface of the opportunity. Because what lies beneath, that’s where the true value is.

At GoodWork, we haven’t just modelled good returns. We’re on a mission to see our faith inform our work. We back faith-led leaders to become Operating Partners, the kind of people who want their work to be good.

As an Operating Partner, you’re joining a community of like-minded people living out their faith in their work. Small businesses rarely make headlines, but in Australia they account for 97.6% of all businesses and, more importantly, 44% of national employment, about 5.1 million people. And while we don’t know the names of all 5.1 million, we know the One who does.

We’re financially backing and building a network of support around faith-led leaders stepping into these businesses with a mission that goes beyond optimisation and financial gain. Because those who lead teams and businesses hold a unique opportunity to impact lives.

In Western culture, in this post-Christian moment, we’ve seen a shift in what effective evangelism looks like. A move away from large stadium evangelism, to radical peer-to-peer evangelism lived out within trusted, everyday relationships.

You may have heard it said, “Preach the gospel at all times, and if necessary, use words.” Or as Cardinal Suhard put it: “To be a witness does not consist in engaging in propaganda, nor even in stirring people up, but in being a living mystery. It means to live in such a way that one’s life would not make sense if God did not exist.”

At GoodWork, we’ve seen the fruit of this over our business careers firsthand. The privilege of leading teams and letting faith and values shape the way we work it changes everything.

In an age where profit is often found in the grey areas, we’ve seen the quiet power of walking in the light and the unseen influence it has on those we lead. We’ve seen faith restore our hope, reignite our vision, and sustain us even when all seemed lost. We’ve seen what happens when leaders put community and stakeholders before themselves. People shake their heads in disbelief. Because the faith we live is countercultural. And in an ever-darkening world, hope like light stands out.

The impact of your work over the next five years will go far beyond financial returns. It will likely be marked by your own transformation, and we pray, the transformation of many others you lead and serve along the way.

The right people, doing the right work

We’re looking for high-capacity, performance-minded, faith-driven leaders who are ready to step in, lead with heart and work hard to grow a business.

We’re offering a select few the opportunity to step into growth-ready businesses as Operating Partners. You’ll take the reins with capital backing, real equity and ownership of businesses we acquire.

  • We’re looking for business leaders who are:

    • Influential and persuasive, with a passion to lead people and teams

    • Performance-minded, entrepreneurial and fast paced; and loves rolling up their sleeves to build something with impact

    • Committed to learning and continuous improvement, with a mindset of curiosity

    • Relationship driven and friendly with strong communication and interpersonal skills

    • Disciplined, considered and strategic in approach

    • Hungry for more ownership, responsibility and meaning in their work

    • Likely to have run their own business, acted as second-in-command in a small business, or held senior corporate roles

    • 5+ years of experience running teams or business units

    • A proven track record of driving business growth

    • A commercial, performance-driven mindset with a bias for action

    • A desire to integrate your faith with your work

    • Based in or willing to relocate to one of our target regions: Perth, Brisbane or the Sunshine Coast

    • A profitable business acquired to match your skills and experience in order to enhance the likelihood of success. You’ll also be given a gift of equity in the business

    • A generous base salary in line with industry standards

    • Full support from the GoodWork investment team and an ecosystem for professional and personal growth, designed to help you effectively run and scale your business

    • Spiritual and emotional support for what can be a gruelling but rewarding journey

    • Membership in a growing network of faith-led leaders operating similar businesses within the GoodWork community

    • An equity stake in the business you lead, as well as two others led by peers in your cohort (we acquire and pair three businesses and leaders at a time)

And, if it works, an invitation to go again.

Good support

The Community

For those who come on board as operating partners with GoodWork, we’re offering more than just the opportunity to run and scale a business with an ownership mindset - we’re inviting you to be part of something bigger.

You’ll be joining a small group of like-minded, faith-driven operators who are on the same journey, with the same mindset and sense of purpose. There’ll be regular moments to connect (some informal, some more structured) where ideas are shared, challenges are worked through and support flows both ways.

The GoodWork team brings deep experience across business, entrepreneurship, marketing, investment and acquisitions, and most importantly, a track record in scaling growth. You’ll have us, and our wider network of trusted consultants, in your corner, ready to offer tools, strategies and perspective when you
need it.

You won’t feel like you’re going it alone. You’ll feel like you’re part of a small, committed group of people building something to rewrite history - a model that, together, we hope to replicate over and over again. It’s about doing good work with great impact.

This is a movement

We have a growing investor and business acquisition pipeline to scale GoodWork across Australia, backing Operating Partners, and serving the communities they touch.

But we’re not looking to hold this close.

Traditionally, the IP from models like this is protected. But we believe in ecosystems, not empires. Movements, not high-control systems. In part, because we’re each part of a movement that started with one teacher and a few fishermen, and is today unrivalled. But more importantly, because that Teacher compels us to.

We’ve made strategic decisions to open-source our learnings and systems to other faith-aligned leaders. And in time, you’ll see your good work inspire others across the globe.

Good business

We look to match you with the right business that meets your expertise and skill set. We have access to portfolios of service-based business opportunities across essential trades and professional services - industries that are in steady demand and often overlooked by modern investors.

These include home and commercial services such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, landscaping, industrial cleaning and restoration, alongside niche offerings like fire protection, junk removal and locksmithing. We also see potential in scalable professional services, including bookkeeping, legal documentation and fabrication.

Many of these are ripe for brand consolidation, digital transformation and operational efficiency, offering strong, recurring revenue andexit potential.

We buy Good businesses

Good Returns

At GoodWork, we’ve built a model that offers consistent base income with meaningful upside at exit after five years.

Here’s an example of what the full financial picture could look like, based on YOY growth of either 15%, 20% or 30%*:

15% 20% 30%
STARTING BUSINESS EBITDA $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000
5-YEAR WAGE $849,462 $849,462 $849,462
5-YEAR BONUS $300,000 $425,000 $625,000
EQUITY VALUE AT EXIT (5 YEARS) $888,462 $1,051,054 $1,387,594
TOTAL EARNINGS OVER 5 YEARS $2,037,924 $2,325,516 $2,862,056
YEARLY AVERAGE (5 YEARS) $407,585 $465,103 $572,411

We acquire businesses in sets of three. That means in addition to your own business, you’ll also hold an equity stake in the two other businesses you’re paired with.

At the heart of our model is the belief that you don’t walk alone. We know you’ll bring value to the other Operating Partners in your cohort, just as they’ll bring value to you.

The above shows a strong scenario, and yes, we’ve got a tab in our financial model that reflects an even better one. But here’s the thing - GoodWork isn’t about chasing financial returns at all costs. And we’re not in the business of overselling.

If the outcomes exceed expectations, we’ll celebrate that when the time comes. But right now, we’re looking for leaders who want to make their work deeply meaningful along the way.

*These figures are based on modelled projections and assumptions. These figures are indicative only and do not constitute a promise, forecast or guarantee of future performance.

The Good in GoodWork

The “Good” in GoodWork is more than a nice feeling. It’s a calling.

It’s about building businesses that serve people, operate with integrity and strengthen communities. Through our verticals of Good People, Good Practice and Good Community, we invest in workplaces where people flourish and where businesses become agents of renewal in their local context.

When we say people, it’s the people in the teams you lead. The people in the supply chains, customer relationships and support networks that surround your business.

We’re also compelled by something deeper. Generally speaking, God’s ideas are wild. We’ve seen them play out in history time and time again. In a time when fewer people walk into churches, we hope the businesses we build spark meaningful conversations and quietly point to something greater. As Cardinal Suhard said, “To be a witness… means to live in such a way that one’s life would not make sense if God did not exist.”

That’s the kind of good we’re after. Work that delivers returns, yes, but more than that, work that becomes a living mystery of faith in action.

If this sounds like it could be your next chapter, we’d love to invite you to join the application and interview process.

Please fill out the form and our team will be in touch with more information.
